Swim Description Try our Outdoor Swimming Taster Session with Swim the Lakes right at the heart of the Lake District. The Lakes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for good reason and provides the ideal playground for us swimmers. Come and join our experienced team of swim guides on this perfect introduction to swimming outdoors. It is so enjoyable on many different levels; meet new friends, learn about your wonderful surroundings, absorb the green and blue, swim to an island, and enjoy a steaming cup of hot choccy while you warm up after your swim. What’s not to like about all of that? �� Swimming Ability & Fitness Level: Of course, you need to be a capable swimmer who can swim 500m in a pool (20 lengths of a 25m pool), but it doesn’t matter how you do it – breaststroke, freestyle, or backstroke are fine by us. This session is for people who can swim but want to swim outdoors for the first time. It’s not a training session or a boot camp, it is just safe, enjoyable, and fun. Outdoor Swimming Taster Session Brief Itinerary: The day begins at Pelter Bridge, Rydal at 08:30 so that we can all get to know each other. Once we have sorted out our wetsuits, it is a short walk through the woods to the shores of Rydal Water. An email will be sent to you when you book; this will include all of the information you need. Non-swimming friends are welcome to explore the shore paths and trails around this beautiful area while we take our swim. What’s Included: A safe and inclusive experience.
