Swim Description Try our Wild Swimming Taster Session with Swim the Lakes in Ambleside right at the heart of the Lake District. This is one of the best locations in Britain for wild swimming. We have many accessible rivers, lakes and tarns and are really are spoilt for choice. Why not come and try it out for yourself. Our friendly local wild swim guides will look after you. They will share their experience and expertise with you, and look after you in the water. Swim Ability & Fitness Level: This session is perfect for people who can swim, but want to swim outdoors for the first time. The emphasis of this swim is feeling comfortable in the water. Approaching outdoor swimming safely and responsibly whilst exploring and enjoying the natural environment. For this swim, you need to be a capable swimmer who can swim 500m in a pool (20 lengths of a 25m pool), front-crawl or breaststroke. Wild Swimming Taster Session Brief Itinerary: The day begins at Waterhead, Ambleside at 08:30 so that we can all get to know each other. Once we are kitted out with wetsuits, it is a short walk to our wild swimming venue near the shores of Windermere. An email will be sent to you when you book; this will include all of the information you need. Non- swimming friends are welcome to explore the shore paths and trails around this beautiful area while we take our swim. What’s Included: A safe and inclusive experience.
