Product Description Tadpole Round Swim Hike Experience the best of the Lake District with the Tadpole Round Swim Hike! Inspired by Peter Hayes’ Swim Hiking Book, this route offers a manageable adventure based on a section of the legendary Frog Graham Round featured in his book. The Tadpole Round is a mini route originally created by the local Mosedale family, no doubt inspired both by the inviting swimming opportunities and classic fell running terrain. What to Expect: Start Point: Shingle beach beneath Rannerdale Knotts Route: Hike up Rannerdale, along Low Bank, through Buttermere village, and along the lakeshore to Hassness In total, we hike about 10km and swim about 1,000m Swims: Cross Buttermere to Horse Close Continue along the shores of Buttermere and Crummock Water Final swim across Crummock to Low Ling Crag Finish: Celebrate with tea and cake—our speciality! Join us for the Tadpole Round Swim Hike and discover the magic of swim-hiking in the Lake District! Tadpole Round Swim Hike Brief Itinerary: Our day begins at 08:30. This gives us time to organise ourselves for the day before departing at 09:00. Buttermere is a popular place, and it pays to arrive early! Arrive ready to hike… We will walk with all we need for the day, including your swimming kit. For the swim sections of this adventure, we will change on the shore, stow all of our dry kit in drybags and then our tow floats, and swim. We’ll then reverse the process for the hiking sections �� Depending on group ability we should finish before 15:00. This is the kind of swimming we do on our days off at Swim the Lakes. The Tadpole Round Swim Hike is all about enjoying a varied and exhilarating swim-hiking route in the Lake District. Skill Requirements: To get the most from this experience, you should be comfortable swimming in open water and hiking on rough, undulating Lake District trails.
