Swim Description The Derwentwater Island Hop is a real adventure swim. We enjoy our training swims here so much that we felt that we had to share it with you. The views from the bay are some of the best in the North Lakes, whatever the weather. The islands we swim to are just the right distance apart for a challenging but very manageable wild swim. They just cry out to swim to… you know the feeling? On the return swim, you can look forward to the best brew in the Lake District and an essential slice of cake:) This is an idea trip for swimmers who are gaining confidence in open water and are looking for an enjoyable way to test themselves. It also attracts experienced and confident outdoor swimmers who just want a blast1 A favourite amongst our guides too, the Derwentwater Island Hop is sure to be a memorable experience. Derwentwater Island Hop Swim Ability & Fitness Level: Suitable for experienced swimmers who can comfortably swim a mile in open water. A good level of fitness will allow you to enjoy, rather than survive this swim. However, we always have a good ratio of Swim Guides : Swimming Clients so differences in swimming speed can be accommodated. Brief Itinerary: 09:00 – Meet at Derwentwater.
