Swim Description The Swim the Lakes Outdoor Swim Safety & Lifesaving course is an informative and fun-packed course with a very serious message – open water safety. Your coaches for the day are RLSS Lifeguard Instructors with extensive experience in leading groups in the outdoor environment. During our day together we will cover the fundamentals of swimming safety in a very hands-on and practical way, but always with a sense of humour and inclusivity. Who is the Outdoor Swim Safety & Lifesaving course for? This course is for all outdoor swimmers wanting to improve their ability to deal with swimming emergencies. Our Outdoor Swim Safety & Lifesaving course can contribute to CPD hours for existing qualifications. The skills covered relate to the RLSS Inland, Still-Water environment. Brief Itinerary: 09:30 Arrive at Waterpark – Introductions and an overview of the day ahead. 10:00 Rescues. Dry land and Practical in water session. Rescues | Tows | Rescue aids. 12:00 Emergency scenarios. Putting skills into practice. Risk assessing 13:00 Lunch. 14:00 Effect of the swimming environment on swimmers. Risk awareness. 15:00 Dealing with medical emergencies and practical rescue techniques. 16:00 Wrap up and goodbyes �� Tea and coffee breaks throughout the day.
